Wet Mountain Animal Welfare

WMAW is an animal welfare and rescue non profit that serves to educate, advocate and support socially conscious animal welfare in the communities of the Wet Mountain Valley. Our primary objective is to build and maintain a small animal shelter in the Westcliffe/Silver Cliff town area.

There currently is no Custer county facility that can house found, abandoned or surrendered pets. Our goal is to create the best possible outcome for all animals, offering aid and assistance to enable pets to stay in their homes, and provide fostering opportunities for those that do need rehoming.

WMAW provides resources to pet owners, including low-cost microchip clinics, an active and networked Lost and Found Facebook page, the Pet Waggin program which helps provide food for low income dogs and cats weekly, a Spay/Neuter fund to assist with low income pet needs and a medical fund to aid with low income pet emergencies.
